The Turkish verb meaning "to hate" requires the ablative (-den/dan) case
Nefret etmeyi neden istiyoruz.
(See here for why etmeyi has to take the accustative case.)
Consider the following sentence: "I hate going to school." A simple and trivial statement, but the Turkish translation may throw you off some.
Okula gitmekten nefret ediyorum.
Here's the deal-eeyo. The verb nefret etmek takes the ablative case, which is used to indicate "from" something. The literal translation then is "I hate from going to school," because apparently the Turks view hate as a state you acquire, passively, and not an active feeling towards something.
I may start saying stuff like "I hate from grapefruit." Yes, grapefruit made me this way.
